Based on a true story
Hello Maggie! is a moving and visually stunning story of resilience, friendship, and imagination—a reminder that even in the harshest conditions, the human spirit can still take flight.
In the barren, sun-drenched plains of Wyoming during the darkest years of World War II, a young Japanese American boy finds comfort and a flicker of hope in an unexpected friend:
a lively and curious magpie named Maggie. Interned with his family in a desolate camp, surrounded by barbed wire and freezing barracks, the boy builds a deep bond with the bird, who becomes his companion in play and keeper of dreams.
